Apostle Barry T. Chaney
Fearfully and wonderfully made…. (Ps. 139:14) A man of God indeed.
Apostle Barry T. Chaney is the Chief Apostle of the New Life Christian Center located at 726 Middleton Street in Jackson, TN. He acknowledged the call of God on his life in 1981 at the former Allen Ave. C.O.G.I.C., which later became Greater Victory C.O.G.I.C.
He became a licensed minister in the Church of God In Christ in 1983. He attended the W.L. Porter Leadership Training Institute in 1985 and was ordained as an Elder in 1988.
Apostle Chaney, a man of great faith, being led of God, established New Life C.O.G.I.C. in 1989 which is now known as New Life Christian Center. He was officially affirmed and consecrated to the office of Apostle in 2001.
Apostle Chaney, as Chief Apostle and Prelate, oversees several other pastors and churches that have submitted themselves and their local ministries unto his ministry under the Fellowship of Covenant Churches established in 2001.
Apostle Chaney is an exceptional servant and leader who exemplifies servant- hood and leadership wherever he goes. He received the Mason, Patterson, Ford Leadership Award in 2002, the Isaac Lane Faith and Witness Award in 2011 and the Omega Psi Phi “James Rip Taylor” Christian Leadership Award in 2012.
In June of 2012, Apostle Chaney received his Master of Theology Degree from Midwest College of Theology and in June of 2013 he earned his Doctorate of Theology.
Apostle Chaney is married to Angelia D. Chaney who serves and assists in ministry. They have 2 sons, Byron Artrale, whom God has anointed, assisting in the Music Ministry and the late Terence Lamar Chaney.
As Apostle Chaney travels across the nation, he is committed to teaching and preaching the Word of God with such simplicity as to minister to the total man. New Life believes that God has given us a great leader who leads with the spirit of excellence and desires to see the people of God equipped for impacting the world with the Kingdom of God.
